Nitori flash. So cute that it's... almost scary!!

Alternatively, there's this fancy one with Marisa: link.

Higurashi no naku koro ni
I didn't mention this earlier, but there's an official site for the movie. It has another streamed trailer!

The characters in their movie outfits~

Movie Dec. 26th, 2007 @ 09:08 am

There was a new trailer at the beginning of the cast interview special:

As for the special:
The script doesn't seem to translate that well so far (might be because of the acting style), but the cinematography looks good. I wouldn't know what to think about it, as these things usually spell out disaster, but it's bound to be interesting!
Satoko looks fun. I wonder how "Omochikaerii mode" would be handled...

Hugs to all my friends~
Best wishes to everyone~

We were all tipsy at home last night... xD;

Dance~ Dec. 23rd, 2007 @ 12:45 pm
The fine, lovely folks at WayForward (the same beautiful group that brought Contra 4 to our world) have put up a poll and a form to fill up concerning a new Shantae game.
You know, to know how many people would want such a thing and for which consoles.
Shantae <3!
Let me start off by saying that this world needs more of her.
The form is right here:

(there's also a poll, not requiring joining fanclubs)

If you have no idea what I'm even talking about... well... ;o;

My most recommended GB title along with Link's Awakening. Definately the most impressive game on the system.

BTW, hope everyone is having a nice holiday season :D

Death Smiles = incredible.
Great controls, beautiful graphics (the main characters look a little blurry, but everything else makes up for it) and the muuuuusic 8D~
CAVE can't release a port for it soon enough! I really like the multiple path-selection scheme. It adds to the replayability.

Otomedius = I don't find it to be quite as fun as Parodius. That said, it has some neat ideas and it's certainly pretty fun :D
But while I like the character designs (by Mine Yoshizaki, I'm guessing), the 3D graphics don't really convince me. It's probably what keeps me from enjoying it TOO much.
I wonder how a port for this would work out... wiimote to replace the touch-screen?

Muchi Muchi Pork = I... couldn't really find anything too particularily special about it, other than the nice colorful graphics. Then again, playing Mushihimesama futari, which was right next to it, was far more tempting '-'

Rumble Fish 2 = Has a fun and cute sword-wielding character now! That raises the character rooster to... one! As far as I'm concerned anyways.

Having Kunoichi/Nightshade take place in the Shinjuku area for a majority of the game was a pretty good idea... the place is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge. What little energy I had was spent up there and in Shibuya, so the hiking trip I was planning is definately scrapped xD;

I must have looked sooooo lost in the Shinjuku station since people offered to help me out of nowhere, one by one... I ended up having a small group guiding me and telling me where to go/what train to take/where to get out.
I was pretty embarassed xD;

I am so unbelievably tired...
Despite being used to walking lots, I apparently don't have the stamina to keep up with my journey.
By the end of the day, I thought I'd just go to Akihabara and relax, but there's no relaxing in Akihabara. Too much to do and see there as well xD;;

Speaking of which, I want an After Burner arcade machine ;o;
I've only ever played the console versions. But the arcade... it... moves!!! It even has a seat belt. It's love.

edit: oh yeah, before I fall asleep...
does anyone know if JP wii console peripherals would work on a non-JP wii console?

Well, this was the most unexpected thing ever...

» Growlanser continues
Thought I might as well post the second part of it and stop there.
Crevaniel and Raimy's lovely reunion:

Bad scan quality, I know.
» Growlanser IV
Another attempt, this time from a Growlanser IV 4koma book I have.

erm... translation notes? )

Must watch anime series this season:
-the finale of higurashi no naku koro ni kai is closing in (link )
-Blue Drop is lovely (link).
-Witchblade DVD is out in the west now (link). It's really good for something that has so much fanservice used for marketing! Special box comes with the soundtrack, and the soundtrack is wicked awesome.

Mini-Review:
-CastleVania: The Dracula X Chronicles is a must own for anyone with a PSP. Still one of the easiest (and funnest!) CastleVania titles, but the remake is a little harder and has some interesting additions. Too bad it's kind of ugly...
Randomness: I always thought that Laura's second form was based off of Nei from Phantasy Star. The remake has a new Laura (hidden in stage 6)... and that one has Neifirst's colors! '____'
Someone at Konami has some serious good taste!!

I need to get Contra 4.
» Izuna Ni is wicked!
I wanted to practice working with comic book bubbles for a project, and ended up using that as an excuse to translate an Izuna 4koma strip.

Scanlating is a pretty lengthy process! I'm not sure how people do it... but I suppose that with practice, both the quality and pace of the work would improve considerably.

To everyone complaining about Izuna's difficulty level: *sticks tongue out*
» Next up: Expert mode - Ashe!
Finished the game with Grey.
Aile <3

I change my opinion on the voice acting. Some of it is great, but most of it is quite flat and emotionless. Or sometimes ridiculously silly.
Prometheus' voice fits, but he lacks the... psycho craziness.
A bunch of them aren't really even trying.

Final boss, Sirnaq and a bunch of others are still wicked though.

Random thoughts:
BAD:
-The game is definately not as pretty as the original game. I don't know if it's due to the design choices for the areas or what, but it doesn't seem to boast as many colors nor background/foreground layers as the previous game.
Worse yet, it reuses a lot of graphics from ZX '___'

-NPCs... are almost not even there. There's not as many as in ZX (they should have made Legion more populated... I really miss Cinq Ville). They don't even talk as much (most barely ever change what they say), and there just isn't as much in the way of possible interaction like in ZX (you're not going to make NPCs treat you any different depending on what the main character wears).
This area made the game a lot shorter '-' same thing happened with Zero 4.

-Story... due to the way it was presented, it ends up being very disappointing, although it has its moments.
It's just like KH1 vs KH2 for me. KH1 was simple in the story department, but hinted at some very big things going on in the background. KH2 shows those things, and it feels rushed.

GOOD:
-The game is FUN. Oh so fun!
Being able to play as boss characters and (spoiler) is just such a treat.
-It's possibly funner than ZX, which was (imo) waaay fun. I just love classic 2D pattern-based action games.
-Despite not being as pretty as the predecessor, it's still a lovely 2D game.
-US version has voices (it's so-so, voice compression sucks compared to the original, characters sound different in-game than on the cutscenes for whatever reason, but whatcha gonna do).
-5 save slots! :D
-Unlockables.
-Model F became veeery useful in this game on many instances.
-Boss challenges are ... challenging!
-omb, Aile <3!!!

While I'm at it:

Go superzombieninjabot!
» I bet a hunter could catch it for me *wink*

First, I'll get this out of the way:
Sirnaq/Model P is awesome!
1- He's a ninja!
2- He talks like a machine, being all calculative and KOS-MOSy, while having a flangery voice!
3- His transform animation is wiiicked! nice shadowy effects.
4- His fighting stance is all undeadish!

So he's like... a super-cyborg-zombie-ninja. How much more awesome can someone be?

Concerning the english voice acting... it's mostly quite solid and surprisingly well-done so far! Good to know that we've come a long way since stuff like Megaman 8 and Megaman X4 *shudders*.

... nawp.
The Izuna Ni site has been updating tons these days.
It features a rather large cast of playable and non-playable characters now, including some very fun-looking bosses.

I wasted no time doodling the latest one revealed:

Corona's design, besides being way sexy, is also really appealing to me X)
The sun god... keehee.

I'm very likely to be importing this, although I wish I could figure out a way to get any of those special store preorders you can get in Japan. (link)
Sexy Izuna telecards from almost everywhere, a bromaid and an Izuna-style tenugui from Broccoli, an Izuna bag... not to mention the bonus artwork cd!

After all these years, my favorite soft drink finally made it here! *just bought some*
The colour is alarmingly different, so here's hope that it still tastes good...

» Everybody KOS-MOS
Sketchy result of today's OC session with Silv (and... Kew I guess? XD):

I think that everyone should draw KOS-MOS.
The world would then be a better place (maybe).
